  • Continuing Hillary's Work

Tuesday, November 8, 2016, started out as a great day. At 6:45 AM, I eagerly jumped out of bed, brushed my teeth, and put on my “Hillary: Smashing the Glass Ceiling 2016” t-shirt and Rosie the Riveter socks. Once I got to school, I was too excited to focus in any of my classes. During lunch, I took some cute pictures with my friend who was also sporting Hillary apparel, and confidently voted in my school’s mock election (Hillary won with 73%).

  • A Thank You Note

I have to admit that it’s extremely hard for me to write this. The past 24 hours have been a roller coaster of emotions, and I don’t quite know how to articulate what I'm feeling.

At this point, I think it’s pretty clear that I love, love, love Hillary Clinton. The past 18 months of my life have been thoroughly Hillary-themed. Every article, essay, or paper that I’ve written for school has been about her. She has been at the center of my conversations with friends and family. She literally has found her way into my assignments for even art class. Hillary is my inspiration and my role model. I’ve never looked up to a public figure as much as I look up to her.

  • Trump and Women

(I had the idea to write about Trump and his awful misogyny. I opened my computer and clicked on this blank doc. As I wondered how to begin this post, it struck me that I wrote a similar one a few months back. It’s so depressing and enraging to think that Trump gets worse and worse every single day, and that this man could be our president in just five weeks.)

  • Hillary, My Heroine

The year was 2008, and I was eight years old.

Politics was a grown-up term that I didn’t know much about, other than a few names: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John McCain. Although the real meaning of the election was lost on me, my parents encouraged my brother and me to formulate opinions about the world. However, there was something standing in my way of deciding who to cheer on. Being a young child, I idolized my parents and pretty much went along with whatever they said. This time, though, my mom supported Hillary, and my dad supported Obama. What to do?

  • Put a Fence Around Pence

A couple days ago, Trump announced his VP pick: Mike Pence. Uuuuughhhhh. This guy might not be as bad as the man Donald, but he is PRETTY close. Let’s take a look at his track record. (If you’re on Hillary’s email list, then you’ll probably know all about this stuff.)

  • The Misogynistic Monster

It’s time to discuss how awful Donald Trump is towards women! Let’s jump right in, shall we?

Trump has been known to label women with extremely derogatory terms. “Fat pig,” “dog,” and “bimbo” are only some of the words he’s pulled out of the dictionary to belittle women. He notoriously stated that Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her...whatever” when she asked him tough questions in an interview. Ughhh. He has used phrases like this to insult any woman who takes a stand against him—whether it’s Megyn Kelly, Rosie O’Donnell, Cher, Bette Midler, or others.

  • Hillary is "Heartless"? Think Again, Trump

The NRA recently endorsed Trump. Surprise, surprise. Trump was endorsed by the organization single-handedly responsible for putting guns in the hands of those who should not have them. In the speech he gave to the NRA, he called Hillary “heartless.” Oooookay, Trump. Let’s take a look at how incredibly wrong and off base this statement is.

  • Musings on a First Female President

I get asked a lot, “Does Hillary’s gender matter?”

    Hmm.

Here’s the thing. The United States of America has had 43 presidents, total. One of which was a black man (shoutout to my fave, Obama). The rest are almost all old white guys.
