• Why Hillary Stands for Me

I’ve noticed that in the press the past couple of weeks a lot of the same things: critique of Hillary’s character, the crazy claims Trump makes, Trump’s many shifts in his campaign, a lack of support from Bernie supporters, people saying they might not vote at all, etc. Throughout all this chaos, I feel like we have strayed from what is really important: what Hillary stands for. The issues Hill prioritizes is a huge part of why I think she is the best candidate not just for our country, but also for me. So here are some examples of things Hillary supports that matter to me.

    1. Hillary’s amazing stance on women’s rights and equal opportunity. It is pretty clear how this one applies to me. As president, she promises to work to close the pay gap, confront violence against women, protect women’s health (and their reproductive rights), and promote women’s rights on a global scale. Hillary actually has a long history of fighting for women and girls. I know if I want to see a change in women’s rights in the near future, Hillary is my gal.

    2. Hillary’s stance on college tuition and student loans. As a teen, college is in the very near future for me. The crazy tuition rates for colleges put a burden on not only my family and I, but on millions of teens and young adults across the country. Luckily, Hillary has our backs. She believes that, “Every student should have the option to graduate from a public college or university in their state without taking on any student debt.” She also has many plans in store to protect borrowers so that debt won’t hold them back.

    3. Hillary’s firm stance on campus sexual assault, an issue that is extremely urgent and, as a high school student, very scary to me.

    4. Hillary’s stance on climate change. This issue is really important to me. As teens, this Earth is the world that we will inherit that we will then in turn pass down to future generations, so it is obviously crucial that we don’t destroy it. Hill is on the same page; she stated, “I won’t let anyone take us backward, deny our economy the benefits of harnessing a clean energy future, or force our children to endure the catastrophe that would result from unchecked climate change.” Even today the droughts in California and on the East Coast, as well as the horrible flooding in Louisiana, are evidence that global warming is a pressing issue—an issue I am glad Hillary has her eyes on.

These are just a couple of Hillary’s many issues that show how she stands for me. I would also highly encourage you check our Hill’s website to see how she stands for you.
