• The Misogynistic Monster

It’s time to discuss how awful Donald Trump is towards women! Let’s jump right in, shall we?

Trump has been known to label women with extremely derogatory terms. “Fat pig,” “dog,” and “bimbo” are only some of the words he’s pulled out of the dictionary to belittle women. He notoriously stated that Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her...whatever” when she asked him tough questions in an interview. Ughhh. He has used phrases like this to insult any woman who takes a stand against him—whether it’s Megyn Kelly, Rosie O’Donnell, Cher, Bette Midler, or others.

He also objectifies and sexualizes women to the extreme. He once told a female reporter that she “wouldn’t have her job if she wasn’t beautiful.” Trump stated in 1991 that “it doesn’t really matter what [the media] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.” Okay, really?? This statement literally demeans women to being nothing more than their butts. These statements are not only laden with appalling objectification and sexualization of women, but they are also quite the opposite of presidential.

Trump has now moved on to new targets: Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren. Trump just adores picking on these two tough ladies. Recently, Trump accused Hillary of only using “the woman card” to gain popularity instead of “real” accomplishments. (Hillary proceeded to absolutely roast him by replying, “If fighting for women’s health care and paid family leave and equal pay is playing the ‘woman card,’ then deal me in”—YES girl.) And now that Elizabeth Warren has taken to putting Donald Trump in his place on Twitter (again, YES girl), he has begun to attack her in his classic schoolyard-bully style: by nicknaming her “Pocahontas” due to her Native American heritage, calling her “goofy,” etc.

And how about his actual policies regarding women? Maybe we should talk about his stance on birth control. Previously this year, he stated that not only should abortions be illegal, but women who get them should also be federally punished. Even the most right-wing, pro-life Republicans don’t condone that suggestion. As for equal pay—oh wait, he’s never even discussed equal pay at all!

Finally, he proudly owns the Miss America pageant, an event that is notorious for its sexualization and objectification of women and their bodies. Not only this, but through his involvement in the beauty pageant world, he has been accused by a number of participants of sexual assault and sexual harassment. The sheer meaning of these claims is horrifying.

So, for a man who declares that he “cherishes women,” it’s pretty obvious that it’s the opposite scenario. Trump is misogynistic, bullying, and belittling. He views women as objects, not people, and has an awful history with them that even includes claims of sexual assault. Here’s hoping that his main female target, Hillary, is our next president.
